Isis Forensics specialises in developing the latest in forensic technologies, placing a strong emphasis on performing cutting-edge research. Rather than building solutions that use other people's technologies - we build the technologies that other people use.
Our child protection technologies stem from our expertise in the area of language analysis. This goes beyond simple word matching or the performance of other checklist styled tests - to actually understanding how the language is being used and building a stylistic profile of the author. Such approaches have already been successfully demonstrated in proving authorship in literature and in the field of plagiarism detection. Our techniques move this work a step further dealing with the intricacies and peculiarities of language on the web and so called `textspeak`.
Flagging up that sexual content is being discussed is not particularly useful, especially given that your typical teenagers will most likely be discussing this amongst themselves anyway - what is more important is understanding who your child is actually talking to.
> ChildDefence (Available for free at the Apple App store) As reported on the BBC
Isis Forensics’ ChildDefence iPhone App empowers children to protect themselves when they are online.
By using the App children can determine if the person who they are communicating with is actually who they claim to be.
This current version of the App represents a proof of concept of the underlying analysis engine. Future versions will further refine the analysis to improve its accuracy, as well adding new features and strengthening its integration with the leading social networking sites.

> Language Analysis Toolkit
Developed by Lancaster University resarchers within the Isis project1, in consultation with law enforcement agencies from across the UK, this forensics toolkit can help law enforcement officers and forensic investigators analyse the vast amounts of conversation data they collect as part of an ongoing investigation. The toolkit provides a range of powerful functionalities that can quickly summarise such data, extract intelligence and enable investigators to focus on the high priority aspects of a case.
